# Product review section

| A complete guideline on how to show and set up reviews on product pages.
## 1. Adding the product reviews section on your product page

#### Step 1: Enable LAI core script (LAI app embed)

* From your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store > Themes**.
* Find the theme you want to edit, then click **Edit theme**.
* In the top-left menu, click the **App embeds** icon.
* Enable the **LAI Core Script**.
* Click **Save** in the top-right corner.

#### Step 2: Add LAI Product Reviews Section
* Go to **Widgets** page > Click to **Customize** under the **Product reviews section**:

* Depending on the theme version that **adding block (2.0 theme)** or **adding code (1.0 theme)** is required to show reviews section.
### On 2.0 themes
* Click **Add to theme**:

* **LAI product review section** will be auto added to your product page > Click **Save**

* Hover over the App section, then click and hold the 6-dot icon (⋮⋮). Drag the block up or down to reposition it.

### On 1.0 themes
* Follow the steps in the setting:

## 2. Customize the Product reviews section
#### 2.1 Default layouts
* LAI provide you with three types of Header and Body card and two types of Body layout including:
    * Header type: Full, compact, rating, centered, photo.
    * Body type: Rounded, square and square - small photos
#### 2.2 Design
* Under this sub-section, you can customize:
    * Font
    * Rating icon
    * Colors of: Primary blocks, primary text, secondary text, rating icon, card background and section background.
    * Reviews widget width: switch from px to % and set the width up to 100%. By default, the widget width is 1170 px or 80%, depending on the selected unit
#### 2.3 Header
##### Write a review button
* You can change the button shape, the button background color and the text **Write a review** color.
##### Submit review button
* You can change the button shape, the button background color and the text **Submit review** color.
##### Average rating & format
* You can change the **Average rating** shape and color, only applied for **Full header type** and the **Write a review** format.
#### 2.4 Body card
In this section, you can customize:
* **Reviewer name type**: format of the reviewer’s name
* **Avatar shape**: applies to the *Rounded* body card type only
* **Customer avatar display**: choose to show text or image
* **Date format**
* **Verified badge**: show or hide, and customize its color
* **Helpful votes**: show or hide, and customize its color
* **Review photos**: show or hide
* **Content alignment**: adjust the position of review text within the card
* **Max characters**: set the character limit per review (1–900) to maintain a clean layout
#### 2.5 Others
In this section, you can customize:
* **Two-column layout on phones**: display reviews in two columns on phones.
* **Reviews per load**: number of reviews loaded per batch (default: 5 reviews).
* **Review default sort**: sort reviews by **Date** (newest to oldest), **Photo** (photo reviews first), **Content** (reviews with text first), or **Rating** (5★ to 1★).
* **Pagination type**: choose between **Load more** or **Numbered pagination.**
#### 2.6 Advance
In this section, you can customize:
* **Multiple widgets on one page**: allow multiple LAI widgets on the same page. If disabled, only one widget (excluding star ratings) is displayed per page.
* **Custom widget design**: enable to apply your customized product reviews section design.
* **Lazy loading**: load reviews and images only when needed to improve page performance. Enable this option and click **Save** to apply.
* **Custom CSS**: add your own CSS to customize the review section.
