# Replace Advanced widget with new layouts

# Why we made this change?

In the previous version, our app provides you with an Advanced widget which includes Card grid, Card carousel, Testimonial carousel and Media gallery. For more details, when a user clicked on **Add to theme** in LAI app, it'd redirect him to the Shopify theme editor page where the user needed to take another more step to showcase the widget he desired.

We, as a software developer, recognized that this flow caused users unexpected difficulty in usage, which made us decide to separate the Advanced widget into four specifc layouts which are Card grid, Card carousel, Testimonial carousel and Media gallery. 

# How it works now? 

## LAI advanced widget

- This widget is still available for users having been showing this widget online, but will not updated in upcoming version of LAI app. 

- You still can: 

+ Choose a review source for this layout

+ Customize the widget's appearance

- However, we suggest you migrate your Advanced layout block on Shopify theme editor to our current separated layout. For example, if the current layout is Card grid, it'd be better to add a **Card grid** block on Shopify theme editor to replace the **Advanced layout** block. ## Four new widgets

### Widget details

#### Card carousel

* Card carousel can be used from **Free** plan. 

* The widget is available on **Home page**, **Product page** or any other page as your choice. 

* You can select a maximum of 10 most-liked reviews to display with this widget.

#### Card grid 

* Card grid can be used from **Free** plan. 

* The widget is available on **Home page**, **Product page** or any other page as your choice. 

* You can select to display all approved reviews or your most favorite reviews with this widget.

#### Testimonial carousel 

* Testimonial carousel can be used from **Complete** plan. 

* The widget is available on **Home page**, **Product page** or any other page as your choice. 

* Only **TEXT** reviews can be shown for this widget. You can choose up to 10 reviews and display them as a slider on any page.

#### Media gallery 

* Media gallery can be used from **Complete** plan. 

* The widget is available on **Home page**, **Product page** or any other page as your choice. 

* Only **PHOTO** reviews can be shown for this widget. You can choose UNLIMITED reviews for this widget.

### How to showcase your favorite widget

- They are all available in LAI app at **Widgets** section. Here is the detailed instruction:

+ Step 1: Go to **Widgets**, select a layout which matches with your page. You can look at those widgets' preview [here](https://lai.crisp.help/en/article/a-dvpkn7/?bust=1708914349593#3-widget-details).

+ Step 2: Click on **Customize** in the corresponding layout box > select a Review source. 

+ Step 3: Click on **Add to theme** > drag and drop the block to your favorite position > click on **Save**.
